ORIGINS
The Imperatore apple started off in 1816 in Ohio (USA) from a ripened variety of "Rome Beauty."

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
This is a striped variety of apple possessing a colour somewhere between red and a uniformally dark colour of red. It can vary from being round to more flattened in shape with a degree of firmness typical of apples.

CHARACTERISTICS OF TASTE
Has a fresh and distinct smell with a sweet and sour taste.
